Virtual School Resource Panel

If a resource is required in order to meet identified outcomes within the PEP these can be requested through the Virtual School Resource Panel which takes place on the first Wednesday of each month.

SMART Targets

Resource requests will only be considered if clearly linked to an identified outcome within the PEP. The impact of this resource should be discussed and clearly documented in the final column of the ‘Target Setting’ section at the next PEP meeting. The PEP should be updated to show how outcomes have been achieved and new targets should be added as appropriate. Further guidance on outcomes can be found on the SMART outcomes page.

Getting resources approved

Virtual School Resource Panel will consider whether there is clear evidence of how a school will measure the impact of resources requested in terms of academic attainment. Attendees at PEP meetings will be asked to consider whether resource requests are appropriate use of Pupil Premium funding or whether other funding sources may be more appropriate.

For example, if there is a clear academic outcome identified that can be supported by a child’s attendance at breakfast club, Pupil Premium funding may be an appropriate way of funding this. However, if the child is required to attend breakfast club due to childcare considerations, this funding should be accessed via other funding streams.

Each term every looked after child and young person has a notional amount allocated to them. Due to funding levels the amounts are different to each education stage:

Early Years Pupil Premium

£100 per term (£300 per financial year, April to March)

School aged Pupil Premium

£600 per term (£1800 per financial year, April to March)

Post 16 Pupil Premium

£100 per term (£300 per financial year, April to March).
