Your Virtual School

All the research and everything that young people say suggests that you are the person with the most influence in a looked after child’s education. The Virtual School is here to support you in whatever way we can with this really important task. The Virtual School Head regularly conducts training for foster carers on a wide range of topics such as:

  • school admissions
  • SEN
  • attendance and exclusions
  • homework
  • choosing GCSE options
  • managing challenging behaviour
  • promoting positive educational and recreational activities
  • supporting high aspirations
  • training and employment

The Virtual School Head regularly attends support groups and really values this opportunity to meet you and find out more about what you do and how we can support.

On this page you will find a link to our Virtual School Forum and also links to all the relevant paperwork and guidance you might need. Don’t forget to have a look at our Talent Show to see what our young people have been doing so far this year.

Who’s Who

Previously looked after children

The Virtual School now offers support, information and guidance to parents of children who have previously been looked after and are now adopted, subject to a Special Guardianship Order or a Child Arrangement Order. You can email Rosie Eustace, the lead for previously looked after children at previouslylookedafterchildren@trafford.gov.uk
